101 Dalmatians

Our 101 Dalmatian Days unit is Here!  You're sure to have a DOG-GONE good time with our 101 Dalmatian Days Unit! This is one of our favorite units!! From Doggy Bingo, Graphing, and Patterning to Positional Words, and Upper and Lower Case Matching- this Unit is sure to leave your tail wagging!  We made this unit for all of our puppy lovers and it is very homeschool friendly. We spend the week learning about dogs, creating puppy ears, dotted shirts, and eating puppy chow! We end on the 101st day of school as dalmatian puppies with real adoption papers and a visit from.... Cruella! This is sure to be a week they will never forget!

Umbrella Week

It's raining, it's pouring... but we are not snoring in K4!!
"U" is our letter of the week, and we love to do events or thematic units based around each letter. We start the year off with our vowels. "U" week we bring our umbrellas to school and have our (orange slice and bended cheese stick in the shape of an umbrella) under our umbrellas, and then we go on an umbrella parade! We end our parade with songs like "Singing in the Rain", "It's Raining, it's Pouring", and "Pitter-Patter on the ground, raindrops all around". So I have all these great plans to blog more and to meet some of the bloggers I know but this is all I seem to be able to do....I am whipped!  Need a couple of days to chill...

feeling so happy!  One of my sweet Kindergarten classes graduated from Boca Christian tonight!  I am so honored to have been a part of your Christian education....You will always hold a very Special place in my heart...Go out and change the world, I know you will!!!

The year was 2001 and Kim was pregnant with twins!  She was teaching half day Kindergarten and loving this class!  It just so happened that our headmaster called me to ask if I would be willing to take over for Kim when she had the babies....little did I know that this was exactly God's plan....You see I had a baby of my own at home and the thought of leaving him with someone to take care of a classroom of children was more than I could bare.  But when The Lord speaks, you must obey....and hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it?  Saying yes to this job, brought me the joy Kim was speaking about with this incredible group of kids who I do believe will change the World and have seen amazing revival in our very school through the lives of these kids, but God also set in motion a friendship that would bring us not only 2preschoolpals, but a true kindred spirit, a hand of a friend, a sister and a bond that is as strong as family as only The Lord can do....and that is only the tip of all that God did through that one act of obedience!

Hello Everyone!

I am still not very good at this whole Blogging thing but Liz told me I had to tell about my 50's Volunteer event which was this past Friday. Our teachers put on a Volunteer Breakfast for all of our WONDERFUL volunteers! And part of my job as a part-time Administrative Assistant is to organize and decorate the event...from food, and songs to decorations and gifts the theme this year was The 50's! In past years we've had a Western Dude Ranch, The Disney Gang and  Pirates! Well, from the teachers singing "to know, know, know them is to love, love, love them" and  the Lollipop song it was a hit! I'll try to post the songs in the next couple of days so you can see them! Until then I'll leave you with a few photos....

I LOVE Apple!!

Just had to tell you my latest Blessing... This past week while making my K4 end of the year albums I discovered I lost my MAC chord.... I know hard to believe... Can't imagine between school, home, and the ten thousand bags I carry in and out if school it got misplaced!!! ( just want to mention I loose my keys almost daily!) Well to my husbands total frustration I head to the Apple Store to see how much a new chord would be... $79.00 !!! Being on a teachers salary I decided to do some more looking... While in the mall my little one asked if we could go back and play on the I-pads ... I said sure thinking maybe I could get a cheap adaptor or "thing-a majiggy" to somehow get around paying the $79.00!!

Well, I walk in and began telling the blue-shirted MAC guy what a complete knuckle head I am when he says "Can you hold on a minute?"  I said sure...he walks away and then comes back... With a big smile on his face.. He pulls a new chord off the shelves puts it into a bag and says,"On behalf of the Apple Store we would like to give you this" ...my hubby had just walked up and we were both standing there with our mouths open in complete disbelief. Then he said "you have been such a sweet customer and non- demanding and we just wanted to thank you!"

Moral of the story:

Sometimes the squeaky wheel doesn't always get the oil.... Stay sweet and pass it on...
