Bitter Sweet

Just wondering?.... I know as teachers we have all  worked hard and poured our hearts and souls into these little ones. And I know we all long for Summer and a time to Relax and rejuvenate for the coming year. However, this is my second year teaching in a VPK  program and I'll loose well over half of my class to other schools ... This absolutely breaks my heart... The thought of never seeing them again is just so hard... In years past I've taught other grades and maybe I would loose one or two students from grade to grade... In fact, this years Senior class I taught in Kindergarten and a huge number of them have stayed! I know we see this as a ministry and we have one year to pour into these little ones their ABC's, 123's, the love of Jesus, and as many wonderful moments as possible... But on June 5th they will walk out my door and some I may never know if they are Doctors, teachers or Pastors...I may never see their sweet faces again...
Does anyone else struggle with this? Would love to hear from you... A teacher ready for Summer but sad to see the school year end...

Mother's Day Tea

One of our most treasured days is our Mother's Day Tea in K-4. This is a day when we want our wonderful moms to feel appreciated and loved. From our Manners Unit when our little gentleman "escort" our Moms to their seat, to each child introducing their moms to the group, and last but not least, our little ones Serving their Moms the whole morning. Our morning includes " I Love my Mommy because..., a special dance to a Wonderful World (the Dr. Jean version) and we conclude with the beautiful story I'll love you Forever... Our gift is a beautiful plate we make as a keep sake and a memory that will surely last a lifetime. Make sure and have plenty of tissues if you take on this event- the tears of happiness will be flowing!

Mothers Day

Trying to stay one step ahead for Mother's Day but feeling one step behind these days! We managed to get our first craft done. This is a tulip out of the students hand and arm for Mommy. We laminate these and use them as a placemat for our Mothers Day Tea! Tomorrow is laminating day so we had to put a move on. Hope you all have a great week!
